Banana & Date Smoothie

Bee's Baking - Banana & Date SmootieAdapted from Tracy Rutherford (Smoothies: Healthy Shakes and Blends)


4 dates (~30g), pitted and chopped
90ml (~⅓ cup) water
1 banana, peeled and chopped
250ml (1 cup) milk
½ cup (125g) plain yoghurt (150g of Greek was used here)
1 pinch nutmeg, or to taste


1. In a small saucepan, combine dates and water. Bring to boil, then reduce heat to low, covering and allowing to simmer until dates are soft (~3 minutes)
2. Drain and set dates aside until completely cooled, then combine with other ingredients in a blender and process until smooth and frothy

Nutritional Information

– Recipe yields 2 servings
– Each serving contains ~210 calories, 35g carbs, 12g protein, and 2g fat
